“To rejuvenate the country through science and education”, SEU has been actively implementing its basic research. The total of the national prizes for science and technology it has won over the last five years as well as its research fund ranks the 1st provincially and among the top nationally, and that of its patented inventions and effective patents keeps going among the top 6 universities nationwide.

SEU National Science Park (SEUSP) was founded in 1999 as one of China’s first 15 pilot and first 22 authorized national university science parks accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. It functions as the main platform and window of SEU for serving regional economy.

SEUSP takes an active part in cooperating with local governmental agencies. Up to now, it has established its branch parks of Xuanwu, Qixia, Gaoxin, Jiangning and Xiaguan in Nanjing as well as those in Suzhou and Yangzhou, its park area totaling over 100,000 square meters. SEUSP has turned out more than 1000 sci-tech enterprises, and realized the successful transformation and industrialization of SEU’s key sci-tech achievements, contributing a lot to the construction of a number of specialized centers for engineering technology and school-enterprise cooperation, facilitating the valid fusion of government, industry, university and research institute.

By the development scheme of SEU, SEUSP is supposed to persist in providing its full services for the university’s “double world-class” construction by integrating its resources of innovation and entrepreneurship, establishing itself as an efficient platform for entrepreneurship cultivation and sci-tech achievements transformation.
